About the Position:

We are seeking a highly qualified Academic Leader in Informatics and Computational Medicine to join our team as a Tenure-Track Professor in Biomedical Informatics. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading research in Computational Medicine and Translational Bioinformatics, with a focus on developing and applying informatics approaches to drive biological discoveries and medical innovations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain an independent, extramurally funded research program in Computational Medicine and Translational Bioinformatics.
  • Teach and mentor students in biomedical informatics and computational biology PhD and MS training programs.
  • Participate in the development and application of cutting-edge informatics methods, approaches, and software that impact the biomedical sciences and healthcare.
  • Collaborate with faculty members in the Department of Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Informatics and the Center for Computational and Genomic Medicine to advance research and education in biomedical informatics.

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. or equivalent degree in a relevant field, such as computer science, bioinformatics, or a related field.
  • Postdoctoral training or equivalent experience in biomedical informatics or a related field.
  • Strong publication record in top-tier journals and conferences in biomedical informatics or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with faculty members, students, and staff from diverse backgrounds.
