About the Job
The City of Tacoma is seeking a highly skilled Custodian - Tacoma Venues & Events to join our team. This role will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our venues, ensuring that they are always in top-notch condition.

Salary and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary range of $21.66 - $26.33 per hour, plus excellent benefits including medical, dental, and vision plans, paid holidays and leave, and participation in the Tacoma Employees' Retirement System.

Responsibilities
As a Custodian - Tacoma Venues & Events, you will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our venues
  • Cleaning and disinfecting surfaces, floors, and equipment
  • Restocking supplies and maintaining storage closets
  • Emptying and cleaning trash cans and ashtrays
  • Operating a variety of tools and equipment, including electric carts and floor scrubbers
  • Assisting with set-up and tear-down of events

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent and one year of professional custodial work experience
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours, including weekends and holidays
  • Knowledge of commercial janitorial work and ability to lift up to 75 pounds
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
