Job Summary:

The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for performing a variety of clerical tasks related to the maintenance and processing of accounts payable.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Incorporate safety and environmental responsibility into daily actions.
  2. Employ positive interpersonal skills when communicating or interacting with customers, subcontractors, vendors, and company personnel.
  3. Utilize organizational skills to effectively minimize obstacles that negatively impact the project.
  4. Date stamp all incoming invoices.
  5. Verify the accuracy of invoices.
  6. Match invoices with receipts and purchase orders.
  7. Route invoices for approval.
  8. Code invoices not associated with a purchase order, including expense reports.
  9. Input invoices and develop a weekly check run, copy, and file invoices.
  10. Run accounts payable checks weekly.
  11. Verify vendor statements for accuracy.
  12. Resolve all invoice discrepancies with the Procurement Department and vendors.
  13. Maintain active purchase order files.
  14. Provide information for employment verifications, unemployment questionnaires, and employee year-to-date information.

Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent with some exposure to accounting principles.

Two or more years of experience in an accounting position.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Windows, Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint) and cost tracking software (ViewPoint).

Ability to learn other software, if required, with company-provided training.
