Patient Access Lead Financial Clearance Representative

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Patient Access Lead Financial Clearance Representative to join our team at Stony Brook Medicine. As a key member of our Patient Access Services department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and accurate financial clearance of patients for various services.
Key Responsibilities- Validate patient insurance and benefit information to ensure proper financial clearance
- Secure necessary authorizations and notifications for patient admissions, tests, and procedures
- Provide financial guidance and support to patients and their representatives
- Collaborate with the Supervisor to ensure productivity and quality standards are met
- Assist with timely completion of Hospital and Cancer Center Financial Clearance tasks
- Associate's degree with 1 year of experience in financial services, healthcare, or a related industry
- Excellent verbal and written communication, computing, and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and provide positive guidance and direction to staff
- Strong PC experience and Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Billing experience, accounts receivable, and hospital patient access/registration experience
- Familiarity with medical insurance benefits and EMR computerized registration/financial/IT systems
- Knowledge of medical terminology
