Financial Analysis Specialist

Job Overview

This role is pivotal in gathering, assessing, and overseeing the financial metrics of the organization. The incumbent will deliver technical accounting expertise, analytical insights, and support to the Finance Team within the Clinical Research Support Office. Key responsibilities encompass financial accounting, analytical evaluations, and the formulation and reporting of budgets.

The position entails providing strategic financial insights to departmental leadership, coordinating forecasts and analyses, and ensuring the effective planning, management, and execution of designated programs.

Key Responsibilities

- Collect, organize, and scrutinize data from various financial systems and databases.

- Develop financial and statistical analyses, visual representations, and presentation materials; offer analytical support to the finance team.

- Address information requests from all management levels regarding financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and other accounting-related inquiries.

- Generate invoices for departments, manage e-journal entries, and reconcile management reports.

- Propose and implement enhancements that influence accounting systems and departmental functions.

- Provide insights related to planning, policy formulation, operational methods, workforce utilization, organizational structure, task distribution, and information management.

- Conduct research and analysis for the OnCore program and operations.

- Oversee the preparation and assessment of special projects.

- Create tables, graphs, and charts to summarize data effectively.

- Determine the statistical techniques employed in data analysis.

- May undertake special projects necessitating knowledge of governmental and business accounting standards.

Challenges associated with this role include delivering an unbiased perspective to key decision-makers regarding products or services and applying theoretical frameworks to practical scenarios.

Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience (one year of education may substitute for two years of relevant work experience) along with four years of progressively responsible experience as a management analyst; strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.

- Candidates must demonstrate the potential ability to fulfill the essential functions of the position as outlined.

- Familiarity with statistical analysis principles as they pertain to financial reporting.

- Comprehensive knowledge and experience with financial system applications and software.

- Experience in database development and management.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access, Word, Outlook).

- Capability to work independently and manage tasks effectively in a dynamic environment.

- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and manipulate complex information.
