We are currently looking for a Financial Modeling Specialist to join our Corporate Quantitative Analytics (CQA) team. This team is responsible for developing models that are integral to various bank processes, including Capital Planning, Current Expected Credit Loss (CECL), and Asset Liability Management. The insights generated from these models play a crucial role in risk management and contribute to the overall financial health of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, test, and validate credit loss models utilized in multiple bank processes.
  • Conduct modeling, data analysis, and programming using Python, R, SAS, and SQL.
  • Develop and execute forecasting models.
  • Analyze model inputs and assist in interpreting the outcomes.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure comprehensive risk factors are included in models.
  • Create tools to facilitate model development and implementation.
  • Document modeling processes and methodologies.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in mathematics, statistics, financial engineering, econometrics, or a related discipline is required.
  • Proficiency in financial/statistical programming languages such as Python, R, SAS, etc.
  • Experience with SQL and handling large datasets.
  • In-depth knowledge of statistical analysis practices and modeling techniques.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and experience in developing financial models.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare comprehensive reports.
  • Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A Master's Degree in a relevant field.
  • 4-6 years of directly related experience.
  • A combination of advanced education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • Familiarity with the finance and banking sectors.
  • Relevant internships or work experience in financial model development is advantageous.
