Role Summary

The Instructional Aide will work under the guidance of the School Leader or another certified educator, providing essential instructional support to individual students or small groups within both special education and general classroom settings, whether in-person or online.

The responsibilities of this role are designed to enhance the educational experience for inclusion students, ensuring they receive the maximum benefit from the instructional program. Additionally, the Instructional Aide will contribute to establishing and implementing effective classroom and school-wide behavioral strategies and will perform various clerical tasks as assigned.

Compensation Structure

This position offers a salary distributed over a 12-month period, inclusive of scheduled school breaks and summer vacation. The compensation, combined with an additional 60 days of paid school breaks, results in an annualized salary that is generally higher than that of peers in similar districts.

Experience:

  • Previous paid or volunteer experience in an educational or behavioral support capacity with children or students.

Education:

  • Title I paraprofessionals engaged in instructional support must possess:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent, and
  • An Associate's degree or
  • A Bachelor's degree (or at least 48 college units in progress) or
  • A passing score on the ETS ParaPro Assessment (minimum score = 460) or
  • Successful completion of the CBEST exams.
