Manufacturing Operations Manager

Latham Pool Products, Inc is a leading designer, manufacturer, and marketer of residential inground swimming pools with a coast-to-coast operations platform consisting of over 2,000 employees across 32 facilities.
The hourly range for this position is $33.02 per hour + OT but may increase depending upon experience.
This role ensures the successful production activities of a single shift, managing daily production related to KPIs for that shift. The successful candidate will support a strong employee culture through the reinforcement of Latham's Core Values.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise operations to ensure positive labor efficiency and variance through proper usage of personnel.
- Follow company safety policies and programs to promote a safety-first culture throughout the facility.
- Maintain a high level of quality throughout the manufacturing process.
- Responsible for production, meeting daily schedule to ensure on-time delivery while minimizing overtime.
- Maintain a high level of quality by doing regular inspections of products.
- Utilize lean manufacturing principles to identify efficiency issues and suggest improvements to solve the problems.
- Submit reports on performance and progress to direct manager.
- Communicate job expectations, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures (Safety, EEO, Sexual Harassment, Quality, etc.).
- Participate in the hiring, training, and review process of production employees.
- Monitor attendance and take disciplinary steps as required up to termination.
- Facilitate daily shift meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of an Associate degree with experience; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in manufacturing/engineering related function.
- Required - Proficiency with all MS Office Applications (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Experience with payroll systems is a plus.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Must be able to work overtime when necessary, including extended hours or weekends.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills - ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization.
- Lean Manufacturing or 5S experience desired.
- Good understanding of safety, quality, productivity, inventory, employee relations.
- Ability to work effectively in a multitasking environment and work constructively under pressure.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Exceptional leadership skills with a sense of urgency and strong aptitude.
- Ability to develop, maintain, and motivate a strong team.
- Ability to solve practical problems and difficult situations.
- Regularly required to talk or hear, frequently required to stand; walk; bend; use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms; prolonged sitting, repetitive computer use; ability to lift up to 30 pounds regularly.
