Steam Turbine Repair Specialist

This Manufacturing Engineer will have responsibility for new and repair steam turbine rotor assembly. In this role, the manufacturing engineer would establish internal processes that safely ensure the production of high-quality products that meet compliance and project requirements for Steam Turbine Repairs & Upgrades operations.
Key Responsibilities- Define / Develop standard plans for Steam Rotor repairs.
- Provide technical leadership and problem solving to the shop floor during rotor repairs and new builds
- Provide leadership and project management to rotor welding upgrades
- Provide strong communication to define and tie machining cell into the repair on a timely basis
- Cross Functional Interface with Engineering, Project Management, Quality, and other manufacturing cells including, but not limited to Machining and the Balance cell.
- Develop build books, project folder creation and maintenance for life of project.
- Develop/Maintain and continually improve the training programs for operators.
- Define and control production process including tooling and equipment. Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment. Includes Manufacturing Engineers.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college with at least 3 years of experience in manufacturing or a High School Diploma/GED and at least 7 years of relevant experience
- Engineering experience in industrial/manufacturing environment
- Experience with customer owned products that require repair
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
- Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
- Established project management skills.
- Ability to influence others and lead small teams.
- Familiarity with basic lean principles – takt/cycle and 5S.
