Job Summary

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly skilled Healthcare Compliance Officer to join our team in the Office of Quality Assurance and Healthcare Compliance. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and professionally recognized standards of care for the Behavioral Health, Facilities, Substance Abuse, and Developmental Disabled programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the performance of healthcare compliance specialists by developing clear expectations and providing frequent and constructive feedback.
  • Lead the coordination of periodic reviews to ensure the Commonwealth of Virginia is in compliance with regulatory, legal, accreditation, certification, policy, and procedure requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate audit plans.
  • Document and monitor corrective action plans.
  • Facilitate system-level compliance-related investigations.
  • Oversee the management of complaints and hotline.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of accreditation, legal, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience developing audit plans that align with legal, accreditation, and regulatory standards.
  • Experience managing compliance against requirements in a healthcare setting.
  • Ability to collect, analyze, document, interpret, and present complex data and information.
  • Experience developing policies and procedures specific to requirements.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of a diverse workforce.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in business, healthcare, public administration, related clinical disciplines, or Juris Doctor.
  • CPHQ certification and/or training in related healthcare, clinical, and quality management and improvement practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
