Hybrid Patient Account Representative (Revenue Cycle Management Department)

Location: Annapolis, MD

Work Model: Hybrid (2 Days From Home and 3 Days in Office)

Schedule: Monday – Friday

Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM or 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM

Compensation: $18 – 24 or more/HR *Depending on Experience*

Position Overview: As a Patient Account Representative, you will be integral in facilitating prompt reimbursement for medical services. Your role will involve collaborating with major commercial insurance providers, addressing claim denials, and effectively communicating with patients regarding their accounts and billing details.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Claim Resolution: Investigate and rectify claim denials, ensuring precise billing and timely payments.
  • Patient Communication: Interact with patients to resolve billing questions, clarify insurance coverage, and deliver exceptional customer service.
  • EMR Proficiency: Experience with EMR systems (such as EPIC, Athena, or ECW) is crucial for effective record management.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: At least 1-2 years of experience in healthcare billing, insurance follow-up, or similar roles.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with insurance companies and patients.
  • EMR Knowledge: Familiarity with EMR systems (EPIC, Athena, ECW, etc.) is required.
