Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a skilled Newborn Hearing Screen Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of newborns.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct newborn hearing screens in a hospital setting, utilizing video and printed tools to educate parents on the importance of the screen.
- Enter patient data and validate hearing screen results accurately, ensuring timely submission of billing.
- Verify insurance information with parents/guardians and follow protocol for security and identification of infants.
- Follow infection control, safety awareness, and hospital policies to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
- Recognize potential problems and obtain assistance when necessary, in a timely manner.
- Complete company and hospital orientation, including patient privacy training, and maintain employee health requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Experience working with infants is preferred.
- Experience in a hospital setting is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Computer proficiency and ability to perform accurate data entry.
- Ability to prioritize daily tasks and assignments.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work on weekends and national holidays is required.
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand and walk frequently (95% of shift).
- Ability to push/pull up to 100 pounds frequently.
