Position: Electrical Engineer - Automotive Lighting Solutions
Location: Novi, MI

As an Electrical Engineer specializing in automotive lighting, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the electrical engineering strategy for both interior and exterior lighting systems, including outside mirrors, from initial concept through to production.

  • Develop and implement the electrical engineering strategy for automotive lighting, ensuring the integration of essential vehicle connection points within the foundational truck and SUV architectures.
  • Engage in and/or oversee the creation of RFQ packages, technical evaluations, and the selection of suppliers.
  • Lead cross-functional Product Development Teams to collaborate with internal stakeholders and suppliers, establishing design direction and guiding the development, packaging, and market introduction of unique automotive accessories.
  • Contribute to the formulation of product specification documents, testing protocols, DVP&R, DFMEA, Control Plans, and Quality Assurance standards.
  • Direct design and analysis teams to produce ICDs/Device Transmittals, Connection Pinouts, review Block Diagrams and EE Schematics, and validate these with analytical models (WCCA, Sherlock, etc.) to meet functional and design specifications while ensuring compatibility through Design Rules and Regulatory requirements.
  • Act as a key contributor and decision-maker within the technical leadership team, serving as a liaison with all internal functional teams.
  • Establish and maintain comprehensive component and subsystem requirements and specifications, including device transmittals and interface control documents (ICD).
  • Ensure timely validation and comprehensive testing coverage for all requirements (component, system, and vehicle) while maintaining traceability for assigned systems and components.
  • Conduct evaluations and design reviews of products during the prototype and pre-production stages.
  • Develop prototypes for both virtual and physical verification testing, including field assessments.
