Senior Compensation Consultant

Our client, a leading management consulting and investment firm based in Midtown Manhattan, is seeking a Senior Compensation Consultant to oversee and manage the implementation and communication of compensation programs and policies.

This role offers a hybrid work environment (combining work-from-home and in-office days). The ideal candidate will have experience in compensation administration, Workday, as well as be detail-oriented with strong Excel skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the year-end compensation process, including project management, stakeholder communication, and analytics.
  • Lead and manage Workday Advanced Compensation activities during the year-end cycle.
  • Participate in and analyze annual salary surveys, maintaining and using data to support compensation decisions.
  • Design, develop, and test compensation-related tools in Workday, Xactly, and Excel.
  • Perform daily compensation administration tasks, such as benchmarking, maintaining compensation bands, and conducting market analyses.
  • Maintain and update the job description library and oversee the salary survey database, recommending improvements to job evaluation processes.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of salary programs, including structures, merit guidelines, and incentives.
  • Support compensation-related projects in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Requirements:
  • At least 5 years of experience in a compensation-focused analytical/quantitative consulting role, preferably in finance or professional services.
  • Strong expertise in Workday Advanced Compensation and experience in successful year-end reward cycle management.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across multiple disciplines (Compensation, Benefits, Payroll, Finance, etc.) and present to senior leaders.
  • Advanced Excel skills, with hands-on experience in configuring and maintaining systems like Workday and Tableau.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in creating business-focused presentations for senior leaders using PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Strong time management, ability to manage competing priorities, and excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to present complex ideas to leaders unfamiliar with emerging HR practices.
  • Highly self-motivated with exceptional analytical, problem-solving abilities, and keen attention to detail.
