Role Summary

The Director of Materials Solutions will spearhead the strategy for materials in the aerospace sector while overseeing the newly established Aerospace Aftermarket Business Unit as part of the PSM Executive Management team. This role involves assembling a team of skilled managers, engineers, technicians, and support personnel to create a comprehensive Materials Solutions portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and secure an effective supply chain to qualify and manufacture intricate aerospace components, utilizing PSM IGT and Hanwha Aviation resources.
  • Manage daily operations of the business unit to achieve financial and operational targets.
  • Coordinate annual R&D development programs, including business case justifications, and formulate a rolling 5 to 10-year business plan.
  • Support business development initiatives and collaborate with MRO shops, clients, and partners to market and sell the Materials Solutions portfolio.
  • Align strategies with Hanwha Aerospace and ensure compatibility with Hanwha's strategic objectives.
Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in the aerospace industry or a related manufacturing/repair environment.
  • Master's degree in Engineering or Material Science is preferred.

Skills and Experience:

  • Over 15 years of experience in Gas Turbine Design and Manufacturing within Aerospace or Industrial Gas Turbine (IGT) sectors, specifically for airfoils and combustor components.
  • Proven track record of over 15 years in development and production implementation projects.
  • Strong project management skills demonstrated over 15 years.
  • Experience of at least 10 years working on cross-functional teams with global exposure, requiring advanced communication skills.
  • A minimum of 5 years in a leadership role with P&L responsibilities, overseeing both financial and operational outcomes.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities for over 10 years.
  • Proficient presentation skills with experience representing the organization to clients and sales teams.
  • Ability to thrive in a professional, collaborative team environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
