Job Overview

DFC Company is a prominent specialty contractor engaged in various sectors including residential and commercial fencing, highway guardrail installation, fabrication, and playground construction. We also provide traffic control and pavement marking services, catering to homeowners, commercial entities, and government organizations. Our team, known as the 'Blue Family', operates from multiple branches across North Dakota and Minnesota, serving a broader regional area while maintaining a strong retail presence through our national sign manufacturing and distribution operations.

Work Schedule: Day Shift, 7:00 am - 5:00 pm

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate detailed estimates for specialty fabrication projects.
  • Engage with clients, contractors, and engineers to confirm field measurements and clarify project specifications.
  • Assist clients in exploring fabrication options and provide tailored estimates.
  • Utilize AutoCAD for the creation of shop drawings necessary for fabrication approval.
  • Perform material take-offs and conduct thorough analysis of blueprints and specifications for accurate cost estimation.
  • Manage an appointment calendar and ensure timely follow-up for project completion.
  • Prepare both preliminary and comprehensive estimates based on project documentation.
  • Design and implement computer-aided design (CAD) programs.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A degree in Architectural Drafting, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of three years of experience using AutoCAD is essential.
  • Experience in bidding and estimating processes is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with welding and fabrication techniques is preferred.
