Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Executive Officer to lead the Office of Management and Administration (OMA) within our organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the development and execution of strategic plans, managing administrative functions, and providing guidance to senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a strategic vision for the Division's management, operational, and administrative functions.
  • Establish clear metrics and benchmarks for measuring the successful implementation of short-term and long-term goals.
  • Ensure the prompt delivery of high-quality, cost-effective operational and administrative services to the Division's Sections and senior leadership.
  • Supervise the development and execution of Division policies to improve management processes, increase efficiency, strengthen performance, and reduce unnecessary expenses.
  • Lead a team of leaders and managers within OMA to meet the Division's day-to-day operational needs.
  • Develop and implement internal controls to prevent waste, fraud, and abuse.
  • Manage enterprise risks and vulnerabilities, considering mitigation costs and options, and risk tolerance.
  • Ensure that audits, oversight reports, and management advisory memoranda are reviewed and appropriately resolved.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and policies in all functional areas of responsibility.
  • Advise the Assistant Attorney General and Deputy Assistant Attorneys General on processes and policy related to the Division's administration and management.
  • Ensure the proper allocation of Division resources to carry out the key priorities of senior leaders while upholding the Tax Division's core mission.
  • Collaborate with the Department's Justice Management Division, as well as the Office of Management and Budget, the Office of Personnel Management, and other governmental agencies to advocate for the Tax Division and shape management and administrative policies.
  • Represent the Division, including the Assistant Attorney General and Deputy Assistant Attorneys General, at internal and interagency meetings and conferences pertaining to administrative matters with full authority to commit Division resources.

Requirements:

  • Must be a United States Citizen or National.
  • Selective Service registration is required for males born on, or after, December 31st, 1959.
  • Must meet all minimum qualifications to be deemed eligible.
  • Must have experience managing administrative functions, hiring, managing, and leading a diverse professional, technical, and administrative staff, and providing advice and counsel to senior leadership.
  • Must have demonstrated leadership ability and evidence of each of the Executive Core Qualifications (ECQs).
