Position Overview

AECOM Technical Services, Inc. is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Senior Environmental Consultant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret and implement relevant governmental codes, ordinances, and regulations pertaining to transportation projects.
  • Initiate corrective actions for any identified deficiencies or regulatory violations.
  • Serve as a liaison among project stakeholders, community organizations, governmental bodies, developers, and elected officials throughout project development.
  • Review and assess previously approved environmental and planning documents, ensuring alignment with local community development objectives.
  • Conduct comprehensive research in specific project areas, including land use planning and GIS, and convert findings into analyses and narratives suitable for stakeholder discussions.
  • Gather primary data from stakeholders, analyze it, and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Draft and present formal reports, technical documents, and correspondence.
  • Maintain administrative records using project tracking systems and coordinate monthly meetings.
  • Identify community challenges and opportunities, proposing strategies to mitigate risks related to project scope, timelines, and budgets.
  • Formulate strategies to enhance economic and community development, ensuring alignment with community goals.
  • Assess the adequacy of community facilities to meet current and future needs.
  • Recommend priorities, timelines, and funding sources for public improvement initiatives.
  • Telecommuting options may be available.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

A Master's degree in Geosciences, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline, along with one year of relevant experience in environmental planning or a related field.

Proficiency in software tools such as ArcGIS, AutoCAD, Microstation, or Matlab.

Experience in analyzing environmental impacts using various modeling tools and preparing comprehensive assessments for regulatory compliance.

Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure project deliverables meet federal and state standards.

Strong skills in preparing technical documents, conducting public meetings, and managing project schedules effectively.
