Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement EHS Management Systems: Support the development and implementation of EHS management systems, compliance assessments, and audits to ensure effective risk control and regulatory compliance.
- Project Management: Manage multiple projects within scope, budget, and schedule expectations, ensuring quality standards on project deliverables.
- EHS Compliance Audits: Perform EHS compliance audits and implement follow-up corrective actions to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Environmental Management Systems: Develop, manage, and implement environmental management systems and programs for corporate clients.
- Permitting and Compliance: Manage and develop plans, permits, and procedures for air quality, hazardous waste, spill prevention, storm water, and wastewater.
- Client Relationship Management: Develop and expand client relationships that generate repeat business to grow the EHS team.
- On-Site Compliance Support: Provide on-site compliance support at client facilities.
- Team Leadership: Appropriately delegate project assignments to project teams and mentor junior staff.
- Business Development: Contribute to expanding ERM's EHS business by identifying and developing new opportunities, preparing effective technical proposals, and taking an active leadership role in developing new business with new and existing clients.
- Strategic Planning: Design and direct corporate EHS strategies and programs, achieving client expectations for scope, budget, schedule, and quality.
- Team Performance Management: Lead, manage performance, hire and retain, inspire and mentor personnel for overall success of the technical team.
- Client Network Development: Build client relationships and nurture repeat business by continuously striving to build a network within and outside of ERM that will enable you to leverage your skills and solve challenging multi-disciplinary client challenges.
- Education: Bachelors or Masters Degree in engineering, environmental science, safety, business administration, or related discipline, or the equivalency of 8+ years related experience in lieu of education.
- Experience: At least 5 years (7+ years preferred) relevant experience in working with organizations on EHS management, leadership/culture, and/or sustainable EHS compliance programs, consulting experience a plus.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in technical safety and/or technical environmental areas such as stormwater pollution prevention, spill protection, emergency planning, and community right-to-know.
- Leadership Experience: Experience maintaining corporate management standards, either as a consultant or an internal compliance officer.
- Project Management: Experience in project management or delegation of authority through formal leadership position, along with budgeting and tracking of monetary requirements of a department or project life cycle.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills, experience writing comprehensive technical reports, and the ability to communicate effectively.
- Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel, both within the United States and to international locations in support of client programs, up to 40% travel may be required.
- Certifications: Certification in field, CSP, PE, CHMM, or similar registration highly desirable.
