Position Title: Climate Justice Program Assistant

Reports to: Climate Justice Program Manager

Location: Hybrid field/remote work

Type: Part-time, temporary

About Earth Advantage: Earth Advantage is dedicated to advancing environmental justice, particularly focusing on climate and community resilience. We are seeking individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of vulnerable communities.

Role Overview: The Climate Justice Program Assistant will play a vital role in supporting the implementation of the Cooling Portland initiative, which aims to provide portable heat pumps and air-conditioning units to low-income households.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and arrange site visits for households that received cooling units in prior years.
  • Conduct on-site surveys and assessments for unit recipients.
  • Organize and ensure quality control of data related to survey results.
  • Monitor and verify installation reports submitted by program partners.
  • Compile and present monthly reports detailing program activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong commitment to supporting marginalized communities and aligning with Earth Advantage's mission.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Valid driver's license and proof of insurance.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets, or similar software.
  • Full vaccination status is required for in-office work, with accommodations considered for disability and religious reasons.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant educational background or certification in fields such as energy, engineering, or sustainability.
  • Fluency in multiple languages.

Compensation: $27.81-$28.71 per hour, with expected hours ranging from 16 to 24 per week.

Benefits: This is a temporary position and does not include benefits.
