Webber-Road Maintenance Technician-Signage-Infrastructure Specialist

Job DescriptionAs a Road Maintenance Technician-Signage, you will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, and repairing roads and other infrastructure assets. This includes maintaining contracted assets such as roadways, medians, signs, guardrails, fences, bridges, tunnels, vegetation, and litter removal, per standards in the contract and as directed by your supervisor.
This role may be assigned to operate equipment for winter or summer operations as required. Your primary duties and responsibilities will include:
- Creating safe Maintenance of Traffic (M.O.T) control by setting up and removing traffic control devices, including cones, message/arrow boards, temporary signage, etc.
- Working from heights in bucket trucks, scaffolding, ladders, and aerial platforms lifts.
- Transporting crew and equipment to work sites operating large trucks and specialized motor vehicles and trailers.
- Positively contributing to a diverse, inclusive, and fair work environment, free from discrimination, bullying, and harassment.
- Carrying out all duties in line with Company policies and procedures as amended from time to time.
- Maintaining large and small signs on and off the client system.
- Installing small signs and sign mounts.
- Installing large signs (Client will provide crane and operator for any sign too large to safely install with two (2) people).
- Conducting routine field inspections to ensure the condition of existing signs, mounts, and sign connections.
- Maintaining a database report for the client that includes installation date, age, reflectivity, and types of signs.
- Maintaining an inventory of available signs at the client's storage locations.
- Coordinating with the client to order necessary signs.
- Performing a nighttime sign inspection to determine retro reflectivity once per year.
- Maintaining the appearance and functionality of signs through repair and/or replacement using hand or power tools.
- All other duties as assigned.

- Recognize hazards inherent in routine and non-routine tasks and make adjustments to avoid loss, injury, or accident.
- Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriate to your job.
- Cooperate and communicate written or verbally with co-workers and supervisor.
- Perform basic math functions (add, subtract, multiply, divide, calculate proportions, percentages, measurements).
- Understand instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Read, write, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals to comply with contractual requirements.
- Work flexibly and be willing to work extensively to meet business needs.
- Have a high level of attention to detail.
- Take ownership of responsibilities.
- Have basic knowledge of the standard methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in concrete, asphalt repair, construction, and maintenance.
- Be skilled in the use and care of small hand power tools associated with the work.
- Be able to interface with the public in a professional manner.
24/7 Operations - Availability for holidays, nights, weekends, overtime, and 3rd shift are required. On-call duties as assigned. Must be willing and able to respond within contractual guidelines and timeframes. Basic knowledge of technology (Smartphones) is preferred.
RequirementsTo be considered for this role, you must have:
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- One (1) year work experience in infrastructure, maintenance, and repair.
- A valid driver's license and a good driving record to drive a company vehicle.
- Ability to pass and obtain Advanced MOT Certification.
