Cornerstone Environmental is seeking an Experienced Environmental Engineer (Civil, Environmental with Solid Waste) to join our dedicated Solid Waste/Environmental team.

Your Role:

As a key member of our team, your responsibilities will include interpreting federal, state, and local regulations, analyzing, overseeing, and reviewing project deliverables, including site-specific technical data, calculations, technical reports, construction plans, cost estimates, and environmental permit applications.

These tasks will be relevant to the Civil, Environmental, and Solid Waste sectors. Some on-site work and travel may be necessary.

Your role will also involve fostering client relationships, supporting new business development efforts, including proposals, and assisting with cross-selling initiatives.

* Plan, develop, coordinate, and manage work for multiple projects and clients. * Support strategic initiatives for ongoing collaboration with key clients and sectors. * Ensure quality control on projects and administrative tasks while supporting team members. * Work independently to execute project tasks, designs, calculations, and reporting to meet specific project requirements. * Serve as a primary contact for clients, maintaining positive relationships. * Manage various smaller company priorities and projects. * Engage in work at landfills, contaminated sites, and other locations where heavy equipment or health hazards may be present. Be prepared for short-duration travel as needed.

* Assist with proposal development, including technical plans, schedules, cost estimates, and collaboration with staff and clients.

* Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills are essential. Ability to think critically and strategically is required. OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in engineering or a related environmental field
  • Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain within one year of employment
  • Minimum of 6 to 12+ years of experience in a related field, including solid waste management, biogas system design, remediation, and site civil work
  • Regulatory experience is required; familiarity with upper mid-west regulations, particularly in Michigan, is a plus
  • Established client relationships are advantageous
  • Project management experience is beneficial, including budget and invoicing management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Self-motivated individual who thrives in a team environment
  • Proficiency in document preparation software, including Word and Excel
  • Working knowledge of computer-aided design software; Civil 3D is preferred
