Position Overview
Are you passionate about contributing to environmental sustainability? We are seeking a knowledgeable Environmental Engineer to enhance our environmental compliance initiatives and operational excellence. This role is integral to a corporate team that collaborates across numerous facilities and may involve occasional travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Water Stewardship Leadership: Spearhead initiatives related to water management, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with relevant regulations. Maintain comprehensive water inventory records and oversee wastewater permit adherence.
- Environmental Compliance Management: Develop and uphold records, plans, and reports to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
- Chemical Inventory Oversight: Manage SARA Program reporting and provide guidance on chemical inventory requirements.
- Sustainability Reporting: Compile and maintain technical data for ongoing sustainability initiatives, including reporting for Ecovadis and CDP Water Security.
- Training Development: Create and deliver training materials to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and promote sustainability awareness.
- Regulatory Adherence: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations through accurate record-keeping and reporting.
- Internal Auditing: Coordinate and participate in audits of environmental programs to ensure adherence to standards.
- Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement aligned with strategic objectives.
- Project Management: Oversee environmental projects, ensuring accountability and effective communication with stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with environmental regulations such as CWA, NPDES, and SARA is preferred.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities to convey consistent messages across all organizational levels.
- Data Management: Proficient in organizing and reporting data with precision and attention to detail.
- Team Collaboration: A strong team player capable of building relationships and working collaboratively to achieve objectives.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to engage in collaborative problem-solving and understand diverse perspectives.
- Active Listening: Strong active listening skills to comprehend user needs and perspectives.
- Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities with a knack for prioritizing tasks.
