Position Overview

AECOM is currently seeking a motivated and creative Entry-Level Geotechnical/Structural Engineer for immediate employment. This role is available in various locations, and candidates are expected to be flexible with relocation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct site assessments and inspections of existing structures.
  • Supervise geotechnical drilling operations.
  • Log and classify soil samples, preparing formal boring logs.
  • Compile detailed documentation, including photographic logs and repair recommendations.
  • Develop structural calculations for various components, such as concrete slabs and foundations.
  • Perform geotechnical analyses, including slope stability and bearing pressure evaluations.
  • Collaborate with drafting teams to produce construction drawings.
  • Review and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) during construction, adjusting designs as necessary.
  • Provide computer-aided design support for a variety of projects.
  • Assist in report preparation and site reconnaissance while communicating effectively with the multidisciplinary project team.
  • Engage in engineering design and analysis under the guidance of experienced engineers.
  • Create designs, models, and calculations while adhering to budget and schedule constraints.
  • Understand and apply relevant regulations to develop necessary standards for project design and permitting.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in civil engineering or a related field.
  • U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of the work.
  • A valid U.S. driver's license is necessary for site visits and client interactions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in civil engineering is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Civil3D software.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong organizational, technical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently within project timelines.
  • Willingness to collaborate within a project team and adapt to diverse project requirements.
  • Flexibility to travel and conduct fieldwork as needed.
