About the Role

Georgia-Pacific is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer - Asset Manager to join our team at the Packerland facility. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our converting equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and tactical leadership in the areas of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), compliance, asset reliability, cost optimization, quality, productivity, waste, and strategic capital planning and execution.
  • Facilitate ownership-based work system strategies by building capability of technicians to operate, maintain and improve their assets.
  • Develop and execute reliability and asset strategies, including time-based, condition-based, operating envelope, and spare parts for responsible equipment.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and customers to provide products that meet customer specifications.
  • Coach and develop a team focused on supporting and holding each other to world-class facility standards.
  • Work with subject matter experts to optimize processes relative to throughput, quality, and cost.
  • Understand and communicate current capability of assets and coordinate new opportunities with the Business, Operations, and Supply Chain organizations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering or equivalent experience in converting manufacturing.
  • Experience working with individuals at all levels, from technicians to management.
  • Experience identifying and addressing losses within a process.
  • Experience troubleshooting mechanical or electrical systems in a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in paper converting.
  • Equipment and/or manufacturing systems reliability experience.
  • Experience executing Lean or Continuous Improvement projects.
  • Previous leadership experience supervising or motivating people or teams.
