Job Title: Residential Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Residential Assistant to join our team at Thea Bowman House, Inc. in Northeast Washington DC.

Job Summary:

The Residential Assistant will provide monitoring and oversight of residential/transitional housing facilities and residents. This is a part-time position, working Saturday and Sunday, 10:00 am - 10:00 pm (24 hours per week).

Responsibilities:
  • Perform room checks and hourly house walk-throughs
  • Ensure house chores are completed
  • Assist residents in preparing meals, as needed
  • Monitor resident compliance with rules and regulations
  • Provide documentation and maintain communication logs
  • Respond to crisis situations or medical emergencies and report to management and on-call staff
  • Provide supervision of the facility and residents during assigned shift; maintain safety and security of the facility
  • Provide assistance to residents with daily living activities
Requirements:
  • HS Degree/GED
  • 1-3 years of experience in social services
  • Experience providing services in addictions or mental health treatment
  • CPR/First Aid; AED; Food Handler's License; Crisis Intervention (Training); Driver's License

We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package that reflects our organizational culture, mission, and core values. The hourly range for this position is $17.00 to $19.70 and may commensurate with experience.
