Job Title: Residential Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Assistant to join our team at Leland House in Northeast Washington DC.

Job Summary:

The Residential Assistant will provide essential support and supervision to residents in our transitional housing facilities, ensuring a safe and comfortable living environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular room checks and house walk-throughs to ensure resident safety and well-being
  • Assist residents with daily living activities, including meal preparation and household chores
  • Monitor resident compliance with rules and regulations, and provide documentation and communication logs as needed
  • Respond to crisis situations or medical emergencies, and report to management and on-call staff
  • Provide supervision of the facility and residents during assigned shifts, maintaining safety and security
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 1-3 years of experience in social services, preferably in addictions or mental health treatment
  • CPR/First Aid, AED, Food Handler's License, Crisis Intervention Training, and Driver's License
Working Conditions:

This is a part-time position, working Saturday and Sunday, 10:00 am - 10:00 pm (24 hours per week). The ability to lift up to 20 pounds and sit or stand for long periods is required.
