The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Health, Safety & Environmental to lead our team in implementing a comprehensive behavior-based safety program. This individual will be responsible for supervising and auditing our Hazard and Critical Risk elimination/mitigation program across all terminals, as well as monitoring regulatory compliance and environmental policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop controls for critical risks in collaboration with functional departments.
  • Monitor and analyze safety trends to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to enhance our safety culture.
  • Research and implement innovative technologies to protect workers from hazards and maintain engineering controls.
  • Mentor and coach junior HSE colleagues to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Lead accident investigations and root cause analyses to identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with Risk Management, Workers Compensation, and Environmental Teams to develop a synergistic action plan for HSE.
  • Communicate regularly with Operations, Maintenance, and Repairs, and Engineering to maintain alignment and ensure compliance with security and environmental regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and policies, including security and environmental regulations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 10 years of experience in Maritime/Logistics, with 5 years in a Health, Safety & Environmental management capacity.
  • CSP, ASP, or Merchant Marine licensure preferred.
