About the Role

We are seeking a highly qualified and passionate Spanish teacher to join our team at Brooklyn Ascend High School. As a Spanish teacher, you will be responsible for developing and implementing engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of our students.

Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver high-quality Spanish language instruction to students in grades 9-12
  • Use data-driven instruction to drive student learning and achievement
  • Build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Participate in grade-level meetings, collaborative planning, and professional development to ensure high-quality instruction
  • Take ownership of student progress and work collaboratively with colleagues to overcome challenges
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Spanish, Education, or a related field; Master's degree and certification preferred
  • Two years of teaching experience, preferably in an urban school setting and in the subject to be taught
  • Proven track record of producing strong student achievement gains
  • Ability to create a safe, supportive, and challenging learning environment
  • Passion for urban education and commitment to closing the achievement gap
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and experience in start-up or founding environments a plus
