Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

As a High School Biology Teacher, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging and interactive lessons to students in grades 6-12.
  • Developing and implementing standards-aligned curricula that cater to diverse learning styles.
  • Providing individualized support and remediation to students who require extra help.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to develop and implement school-wide initiatives and programs.
  • Participating in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching skills and stay up-to-date with best practices.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A Master's degree with a teaching certification in New York.
  • At least 2 years of formal teaching experience in New York.
  • Demonstrable skill in accelerating student growth and mastery.
  • Adeptness in differentiating instruction to fully support a diverse range of learners and readiness levels.
  • Ability to plan rigorous, engaging, and culturally responsive curricula that align with New York State learning standards.
  • Exhibits a balance of high expectations and high support, a growth mindset, and an innate joy in working with adolescents.
  • Strong interpersonal and classroom management skills with a focus on building productive relationships with students and families.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and skilled in working collaboratively in team settings.
