The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of human anatomy and physiology, as well as the principles of radiographic sciences. You will be expected to maintain professional judgment and conduct that is in line with the ARRT Code of Ethics and St. David's Healthcare Values.

Responsibilities of the Radiology Technologist include:

  • Performing all diagnostic radiographic procedures, including ER, surgical, fluoroscopic, and portable radiographs.
  • Selecting and operating radiography equipment, imaging, and/or associated accessories to successfully perform procedures.
  • Interpreting and implementing referring physicians' orders.
  • Practicing safe radiation protection following hospital guidelines.
  • Assisting physicians and radiologists in procedures requiring sterile technique.
  • Preparing and administering radiopaque contrast media needed for radiologic exams.
  • Assessing patients' conditions prior to and during all radiologic procedures.
  • Providing optimum patient care during exams.
  • Corroborating patients' clinical history with procedure, ensuring information is documented and available for use by licensed practitioners.
  • Performing minor equipment repairs and upkeep, and communicating problems to supervisors or communication logs.

Qualifications for the Radiology Technologist position include:

  • Graduation from an America Medical Association-approved program in Radiologic Technology or meeting requirements for Texas certification of Medical Radiologic Technologist on an education-equivalent basis.
  • Entry-level graduate Radiologic technologist will be accepted depending on shift and technical responsibility of the shift.
  • Certified or Temporary Certified by Texas Department of State Health Services as a Medical Radiologic Technologist.
  • ARRT (R) Certified with Radiology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or ARRT (R) registry eligible with understanding that must have ARRT (R) within 12 months post-hire.
  • BLS required per St. David's HealthCare policy.

This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state, and/or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).
