Position Overview:
The City Manager's Office is on the lookout for a proactive and enthusiastic Management Analyst to contribute to our committed team. This position encompasses a variety of responsibilities, ranging from foundational to complex tasks in areas such as communications, public outreach, financial management, budget analysis, and administrative support, playing a crucial role in our department's operations.

Candidate Profile:
We seek an individual who is not only driven but also possesses exceptional analytical and critical thinking abilities. While prior experience in municipal governance is highly valued, we also appreciate strong written and verbal communication skills, proficiency in computer applications, and excellent organizational capabilities. A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively within a team are vital for success in this role.

About the City Manager's Office:
The City Manager's Office provides strategic leadership and professional management throughout the City government, collaborating closely with the City Council to execute policies that improve the quality of life in our community. We oversee several key citywide initiatives, including Communications and Outreach, Mobility, Economic Development, Legislative Affairs, and support for the City Council.

Key Responsibilities:
The following tasks exemplify the general nature and level of work performed by individuals in this role:
1. Contribute to the City's communication strategies, including the creation and coordination of social media content, preparation and editing of newsletters, updating departmental web pages, and assisting with annual reports.
2. Prepare and manage assigned programs, agreements, requests for proposals, and various special projects.
3. Conduct research and provide administrative support within the department to ensure efficient operations.
4. Engage in project and policy analysis by conducting research, identifying key issues, and summarizing findings.
5. Assist in budget preparation, analysis, and administration.
6. Prepare and assist in the development of City Council agenda items, reports, and grant applications.
7. Deliver presentations to diverse audiences, effectively communicating essential information.
8. Work independently and collaboratively on departmental programs, projects, and activities.
9. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills Required:
Knowledge of:
- Relevant Federal, State, and Local laws, codes, rules, and regulations
- Principles of community engagement
- Budgeting principles
- Contract management principles and practices
- Research and statistical methodologies
- Project management techniques
- Analytical methods
- Report writing skills
Skills in:
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Developing requests for proposals and quotes
- Preparing, administering, and monitoring budgets
- Writing comprehensive reports
- Proposing, drafting, and/or establishing contracts, agreements, and grants
- Ensuring compliance with applicable governmental regulations
- Managing projects
- Collecting, compiling, analyzing, organizing, and presenting data
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with colleagues, supervisors, and the public.

Qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree in a related field and three years of relevant professional staff support experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job. A Master's degree is preferred.
