Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Geotechnical Intern. As a Geotechnical Intern, you will assist our experienced engineers with various tasks related to geotechnical projects, including lab testing, foundation analysis, and subsurface exploration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with performing and recommending lab testing to ensure accurate and reliable results.
  • Support foundation analysis and recommendations to ensure safe and stable structures.
  • Schedule drill rigs for geotechnical projects to ensure timely and efficient completion.
  • Obtain utility clearance for subsurface explorations to ensure safe and compliant operations.
  • Assist with determining appropriate subsurface exploration programs and preparing drilling instructions to ensure accurate and reliable results.
  • Classify soil samples to ensure accurate and reliable results.
  • Perform hand augers to obtain subsurface information and soil samples to ensure accurate and reliable results.
  • Observe foundation or ground improvement installations to ensure safe and compliant operations.
Requirements
  • Actively pursuing a Bachelor or Master degree in civil engineering, geology, or a related field.
  • Interest in how structures are supported and a desire to think outside the box.
  • Previous internship experience required.
  • Ability to provide suitable transportation for use on job sites, with mileage reimbursement provided.
  • Position requires carrying multiple times a day or occasionally lifting 85 lbs to waist height.
