Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated individual for the role of Entry-Level Geotechnical Engineer to join our expanding team. This position offers an opportunity to engage in meaningful work within a collaborative environment, fostering both professional growth and skill development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize GIS and GPS technologies to assist in the planning and execution of geotechnical field operations.
- Document test borings and create foundational plans and figures using AutoCAD and GIS.
- Coordinate and oversee laboratory testing assignments.
- Conduct calculations to support geotechnical design initiatives.
- Assist in the preparation of geotechnical reports and proposals.
- Monitor geotechnical construction activities and perform materials testing.
- Plan and manage geotechnical and materials testing fieldwork.
- Compile and submit field reports.
- Review and analyze geotechnical and materials testing documentation.
Qualifications:
- 0-2 years of relevant professional experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, or a related discipline.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Positive demeanor and a proactive approach to work.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Commitment to a strong work ethic and continuous self-improvement.
- Willingness to engage in fieldwork and travel, including extended assignments.
- Physical capability to lift 60 pounds and navigate construction sites.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous internship or work experience in a related field (e.g., geotechnical engineering, construction, civil engineering).
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- Completion of geotechnical-focused coursework.
- EIT certification.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to pass a background check, including criminal history and motor vehicle record.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening.
