Job Summary
The Lead Teacher in the Infant Room is responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating environment where infants can grow and thrive. This role involves planning and implementing age-appropriate activities, documenting developmental milestones, and communicating effectively with parents and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Child Care and Supervision
        Provide attentive and responsive care to infants, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
        Supervise and engage infants in activities that promote physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development.
        Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment.
  2. Curriculum Planning and Implementation
        Develop and implement a curriculum that aligns with infants' developmental needs and Learning experience requirements.
        Use various teaching methods and materials to accommodate different learning styles and developmental stages.
  3. Documentation and Assessment
        Observe and document each infant's developmental progress, including milestones and any concerns.
        Maintain accurate records of each child's activities, routines, and developmental achievements.
        Conduct regular assessments and prepare reports for parents and administrative staff.
  4. Parent Communication and Involvement
        Communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress, daily activities, and any concerns.
        Provide parent-teacher conferences to discuss developmental milestones and address any questions or concerns.
        Encourage and facilitate parent involvement in the classroom.
  5. Professionalism and Ethics
        Adhere to all licensing regulations, health and safety guidelines, and organizational policies.
        Maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy of children, families, and staff.
        Demonstrate professionalism in interactions with children, parents, and colleagues.
  6. Continuous Development and Reflective Practices
        Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.
        Engage in reflective practices to continuously improve teaching methods and classroom management.
  7. Team Collaboration
        Work collaboratively with assistant teachers and other staff members to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
        Provide guidance and mentorship to assistant teachers and volunteers in the classroom.

Qualifications
    Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field OR level 4 and above on the Oklahoma Registry.
    Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience working with infants in a licensed childcare setting.
    Certifications: CPR and First Aid certification; additional certifications may be required based on state regulations.
    Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; ability to create a nurturing and developmentally appropriate environment for infants.

Physical Requirements
    Ability to lift and carry infants and young children.
    Ability to sit on the floor and engage in activities with infants.
    Ability to respond quickly to the needs of infants in a fast-paced environment.
