POSITION SUMMARY

The Big Ten Network is seeking a qualified individual for the role of Director of Advertising Sales. This position entails overseeing sales operations on the West Coast for BTN, which includes nurturing existing client relationships to drive growth, cultivating new business opportunities, staying informed on market dynamics and industry trends, and promoting the Big Ten Network and Conference.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Meet and exceed advertising revenue objectives across both linear and digital platforms.
  2. Identify and prioritize prospective clients for corporate partnerships and media engagements.
  3. Establish and maintain robust relationships with clients by understanding their business goals and delivering tailored solutions.
  4. Collaborate closely with FOX sales teams to create comprehensive college sports platforms across Fox Sports and advocate for Big Ten.
  5. Act as the sole BTN representative on the West Coast.
  6. Foster teamwork and communication to collectively achieve business objectives.
  7. Be prepared to travel to the West Coast and participate in collegiate events as necessary.
  8. Support sales initiatives and outreach for the broader FOX portfolio of brands and content (Tubi, Entertainment, News, Business).

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. 5-7+ years of experience in media sales, preferably within the sports sector.
  2. Familiarity with the collegiate media landscape.
  3. Proven ability to create and deliver compelling presentations and proposals.
  4. Demonstrated success in securing new business and achieving revenue targets.
  5. Strong connections with senior-level clients on the West Coast.
  6. Experience in selling non-traditional assets (rights, events) is advantageous.
  7. Willingness to travel to meet with West Coast clients and prospects.
  8. Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for designated events.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor's Degree.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $161,000.00 annually for California. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents.
