Edmunds Middle School is in search of a dedicated and enthusiastic Math/Science Educator to contribute to a school that prioritizes high achievement for all students. This role necessitates collaboration with fellow Math/Science educators to design curriculum as part of a professional learning community and to assist students from varied backgrounds in achieving success during their middle school years.

QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

Job Requirements:

Licensed or eligible for Vermont Educators License. Endorsement in middle school Math and Science (19C) or eligible for Vermont Provisional License. Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Required Qualifications:

Experience teaching at the middle school level. Demonstrated experience in teaching math and science courses. Proven ability to differentiate instruction and develop curriculum aligned with Common Core standards using "backwards design" and formative assessments. Understanding of Cultural Competency (as explained through Essay 1 on SchoolSpring). Knowledge of best practices regarding frameworks of student behavioral support.

Preferred Attributes:

Training and/or experience with English Language Learners. Experience in a professional/teaching learning community; experience in co-teaching/collaborating with other educators. Evidence of student-centered learning approaches including personalizing instruction and supporting students in meeting core proficiencies. Evidence of implementing inclusive practices for students with special needs. Ongoing educational post-graduate coursework in education or subject area, including diversity, equity, and inclusion.

SALARY: As per the Master Agreement between the Burlington Board of School Commissioners and the Burlington Education Association. (1st 30 days): $20.00 per hour for 7.75 daily hours; (Day 31+): $35.45 per hour for 7.75 daily hours.
