Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as an Emergent Bilingual Program Facilitator. This is a federally funded position that will be evaluated annually. One-Year Contract.

Primary Purpose

The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating the implementation of the Bilingual/ESL/Dual Language programs and maintaining all proper documents for all Emergent Bilingual students.

Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Two (2) years of study in an accredited institution of higher education preferred
  • Bilingual: English and Spanish
Special Knowledge/Skills
  • Proficient use of computer, printer, copier, scanner, and calculator
  • Must be proficient in the use of Google Suite and Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
  • Ability to interpret and follow instructions
  • Ability to relate well with school personnel, parents, and the community
  • Ability to keep well-organized reliable records
  • Strong evidence of ability to work effectively and collaborate with others
  • Strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to learn new skills and electronic systems
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the accuracy, completion, timely submission, and filing of all LPAC documents
  • Maintains all LPAC documents that belong in the student's cumulative records
  • Responsible for keeping LPAC binder documentation according to due dates by campus
  • Follows required processes according to the LPAC manual for identification, placement, and review of all students in the ESL/Dual Language programs within PEIMS and district timelines
  • Compiles data to prepare the LPAC, including state and local assessment data and Teacher Recommendations
  • Collaborates with the PEIMS clerk to assure accurate coding of ESL/Dual Language Prints and verifies PEIMS LEP coding with administration every six/nine weeks
  • Meets with LPAC Administrator and members as often as needed to present the complete LPAC forms for their review and records data on LPAC forms to determine which students will enter, re-enter, remain, or exit from the ESL/Dual Language programs
  • Creates electronic lists of all ESL/Dual Language documents and information on students that are participating in the programs
  • Administers the language assessment test in English and Spanish
  • Keeps close contact with all ESL/Dual Language teachers and makes available to them all LPAC and assessment information of students
  • Collaborates with campus LPAC Administrator, Testing Coordinator, and Multilingual Department to ensure accurate student data for all decision-making
  • Collaborates with campus administration and ESL/Dual Language staff to ensure that EB students are administered TELPAS, as per state requirements
  • Collaborates with campus LPAC administrator and Multilingual Department to ensure that EB student STAAR designations are complete and recorded in student cumulative folder and LPAC minutes according to due dates
  • Serves as a liaison between the school and the parents of EB students
  • Responsible for completing EB Student Follow-Up Forms and reporting former EB (Monitor Year 1 and Monitor Year 2) student's progress to LPAC
  • Maintains current Linguistic Accommodation documentation for all EB students who require them, both in the fall and spring semesters and for all content areas assessed
  • Compliance clerks must run schedules and crosscheck documentation, distribute, collect, verify, and lastly, file Linguistic Accommodation forms for all EB students twice a year
  • Monitor EBs grading period failure and ensure LPAC meetings take place to address EB students' failure and intervention
  • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal law governing
  • Maintains a professional level of confidentiality concerning personnel and performs duties and other appropriate duties as assigned in a professional, ethical, and responsible manner as defined in the Texas Education Agency Code of Ethics
  • Uphold and enforce school rules, administrative regulations, state and local board policies
  • Participate in professional development to improve skills related to job
