Physical Demands
The core responsibilities of this role necessitate the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull weights daily, frequently handling 25-50 pounds, as well as standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods.

Exposure to communicable diseases, radiation hazards, and potential injuries from challenging patients or sharp instruments may occur.

Work Schedule
Availability to work two 12-hour shifts each weekend, specifically Saturday and Sunday from 7 AM to 7:30 PM.

This position encompasses 24 hours of work weekly while providing full-time compensation and benefits as part of the Weekend Premium Plan (WEPP).

Position Overview
Registered Nurses within the Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) unit deliver care to a diverse patient demographic, including adults and the elderly, with conditions such as leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, and other hematologic malignancies.


The primary duties include:
1. Delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care through assessment, documentation, planning, implementation, education, development, and evaluation of a nursing care plan.
2. Providing direct patient care and ensuring satisfaction.
3. Training and delegating tasks to Nursing Care Technicians (Nursing Assistants).
4. Adhering to institutional policies and applicable regulations.


This role promotes collaborative efforts among nursing staff and physicians to enhance communication and improve patient outcomes, utilizing a patient-centered care approach.

The ideal candidate will possess:
- Knowledge of Maslow's Basic Human Needs and Gordon's Functional Health Patterns Framework, along with Swanson's Caring model.
- Excellent direct patient care and critical thinking abilities.
- Basic computer navigation skills and internet proficiency.
- Professional communication skills with patients, families, colleagues, and physicians.
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and delegation capabilities.

The candidate should be motivated, proactive, and confident in advocating for patients and their families, thriving in a collaborative team environment with open communication.

Preferred Education and Experience
A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and a minimum of one year of RN experience are preferred.
