Job Description:

As a Pre-Certified Police Officer with the VCU Police Department, you will provide patrol operations and services within the department. This role involves interpreting and implementing the department's mission statement, successfully handling assignments issued by supervisors, and actively identifying problems to establish effective action planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide patrol operations and services within the VCU Police Department

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Virginia Law Enforcement Officer or completion of police academy, field training, and maintenance of VA DCJS law enforcement certification.
  • Virginia motor vehicle driver's license and a clear driving record
  • No felony convictions, crimes involving moral turpitude, or domestic violence
  • Birth certificate and passing a polygraph, a drug test, and a physical examination by a licensed physician
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Problem-solving ability and collaboration
