About the Role

Aligned Orthopedic Partners is a reputable private orthopedic practice seeking an experienced Patient Service Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our administrative staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage incoming telephone calls and direct them to the appropriate personnel in a timely and professional manner.
  • Accurately document messages and forward them to therapists and staff members.
  • Schedule patient appointments, obtain necessary medical and demographic information, and inform patients of our practice's financial policies.
  • Explain insurance benefits to patients and direct calls to our billing department as needed.
  • Manage the cancellation list, filling open slots whenever possible, and ensure patients sign in upon arrival.
  • Generate new patient flowsheets and paperwork, and ensure all required forms are completed and placed in the correct order in the medical record.
  • Enter patient information into our computer system, register new patients, and update established patient information as needed.
  • Notify therapists or aides of patient readiness and seek assistance when necessary to maintain optimal patient flow.
  • Update the printed schedule with add-on or cancelled appointments and notify the billing department of any new patients added.
  • Collect co-payments, deductibles, and other payments from patients, document them in our system, and provide receipts.
  • Forward cash and checks to our practice administrator for deposit processing.
  • Schedule follow-up appointments as necessary and perform tasks associated with opening and closing the office.
  • Coordinate administrative supply orders and manage the rescheduling of patients when a therapist's schedule changes.
  • Perform basic administrative tasks, including scanning and faxing documentation, and may be required to cover for Physical Therapy Technicians as needed.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in using a multi-line telephone system and our billing computer program.
  • Demonstrated keyboard proficiency and working knowledge of medical terminology.
