Mechanical & Physical Engineer - Energy Management Performance Specialist

The Energy Management Performance Engineer will play a key role in integrating program attributes for specific vehicles, working closely with the EMAT Project Performance Lead to summarize Energy Management related parameters for the Program Team. This includes creating and updating the Energy Management Scorecard, communicating technical status through oral presentations and written reports, and analyzing fuel economy, acceleration performance, and capability using test data and simulation evaluation.
Key Responsibilities- Work closely with the EMAT Project Performance Lead to summarize Energy Management related parameters for the Program Team.
- Create and update the Energy Management Scorecard.
- Communicate technical status through oral presentations and written reports.
- Analyze fuel economy, acceleration performance, and capability using test data and simulation evaluation.
- Review and approve data from the Energy Management science teams.
- Work with extended teams to develop tradeoff opportunities between VDE, PSE, driveability, and risk mitigation plans.
- Validate customer functional objectives related to Energy Management.
- Participate on validation trips to ensure Energy Management targets are achieved.
- Work with the Energy Management science teams to benchmark and future driven vehicles.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
- 3 years' experience in product/propulsion system development.
- Experience/understanding of how to derive ABC coast down coefficients.
- Understanding of VDE sensitivities and tradeoff's.
- Fuel economy and/or VDE simulation tool experience.
- Experience with Powertrain and Electrified Powertrain Systems.
- Experience in fuel economy testing and data analysis.
- Vehicle testing knowledge - chassis dyno, engine dyno, and an understanding of vehicle coast down.
- Experience with featuring and Driven benchmarking.
- Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Always eager to learn and improve.
- Strong interpersonal and writing skills.
