Job Description

As a Mechanical and Physical Engineer at Capgemini, you will play a key role in the design and development of E-Motor components. You will guide the engineering development of electric motor components from sourcing to launch, ensuring that they meet the required design specifications and are manufactured efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with multi-functional teams to design and develop functional solutions that achieve design requirements.
  • Coordinate change management and ensure consistency in requirements, standards, and practices across programs.
  • Own and update Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and Design Verification Plan and Report (DVPR) to ensure functional objectives, guidelines, and corporate requirements are met.
  • Develop timelines and drive programs to meet deliverables, presenting action plans with status/risks to keep programs on track.
  • Manage Tier I suppliers and software releases and/or hardware designs to meet program timing and work.
  • Follow, track, and root cause build issues found during pre-production builds, prior to launch of the program and warranty analysis of all the components post-launch.
  • Clearly communicate component status and issues in Google Suite and MS-Office applications.
  • Work with Prototype Build Engineering to procure long lead components and coordinate sample requests for component suppliers.
  • Work with designers to develop packaging and resolve issues.
  • Provide build and launch support as needed.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or a closely related engineering degree from an ABET accredited university.
  • Minimum of 3 years of engineering experience in the automotive field, preferably product development/powertrain.
  • Self-starter with strong leadership, communication skills, and demonstrated problem-solving ability.
  • Understanding of engineering theory and principles of design.
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment.
  • Advanced degree in engineering from an ABET accredited University.
  • Experience with Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA).
  • Experience with NX/Teamcenter.
  • Knowledge of drawing GD&T and dimensional tolerance stack-ups.
  • Experience with Statement of Requirements, DFMEA, and Design Reviews.
  • Working knowledge of problem resolution and tracking systems and engineering change management processes.
  • Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) Certification.
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Always eager to learn and improve.
