Position Overview:

Northrop Grumman's Aeronautics Systems sector is currently seeking a leader to support our Operations team as a Manager General Manufacturing 1. This professional will oversee our Mechanical Back shop and Machine shop operations on site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of 12-15 skilled machinists, sheet metal technicians, and aircraft painters.
  • Manage daily production and manufacturing of aircraft components and assemblies.
  • Coordinate and lead operational startup meetings.
  • Plan resources daily to meet customer and schedule demands.
  • Collaborate with production scheduling to fulfill schedule requirements.
  • Ensure availability of tools, plans, personnel, and materials to complete assigned workloads.
  • Report production Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to site leadership.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for corrective actions on safety and quality incidents.
  • Mentor, train, and develop staff, including performance management and corrective actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement in safety, delivery, quality, and cost.

Work Schedule:

We offer a 4/10 work schedule, Monday through Thursday from 6 AM to 4:30 PM with every Friday off. Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED and 4 years of related production experience in an aerospace, military, and/or manufacturing environment.
  • 1 year of experience leading projects or teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.).
  • Experience with shop floor management systems (e.g., MES/SAP) or equivalent.
  • Ability to work any shift as needed by the business.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DOD) Secret clearance and Program Access (Classified programs) within a reasonable timeframe as required by the business.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance investigated within the last 5 years.
  • Active Program Access.
  • Experience in the Aerospace industry.
  • Familiarity with CNC machines, water jets, flatbed routers, laser engravers, and/or similar back shop machines.
  • Experience utilizing NX, Mastercam, and/or Bobcat programming.
  • Experience as a supervisor or team lead in a rapid prototype and development environment.

Salary Range: $82,100 - $123,100

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company-paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
