Position Overview:

The Manufacturing Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the strategic planning, coordination, and execution of manufacturing operations to ensure the efficient and timely production of aircraft components and assemblies. This role involves managing a diverse team, implementing production schedules, ensuring adherence to quality standards, and optimizing processes to reduce costs while enhancing productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of 12-15 skilled machinists, sheet metal technicians, and aircraft painters.
  • Oversee daily production activities related to aircraft components and assemblies.
  • Facilitate operations startup meetings to coordinate efforts.
  • Plan resources daily to meet production schedules and customer demands.
  • Collaborate with production scheduling to align with operational requirements.
  • Ensure availability of tools, plans, personnel, and materials to fulfill workload.
  • Report on production Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to site leadership.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for safety and quality incidents, implementing corrective actions.
  • Mentor and develop staff, including performance management and corrective measures.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in safety, delivery, quality, and cost.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED with 4 years of relevant production experience in aerospace, military, or manufacturing settings.
  • At least 1 year of experience leading projects or teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.).
  • Experience with shop floor management systems (e.g., MES/SAP) or equivalent.
  • Ability to work any shift as required by the business.
  • Capability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DOD) Secret clearance and Program Access within a reasonable timeframe.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance investigated within the last 5 years.
  • Active Program Access.
  • Experience in the Aerospace industry.
  • Familiarity with CNC machines, water jets, flatbed routers, laser engravers, and similar back shop equipment.
  • Experience with NX, Mastercam, and/or Bobcat programming.
  • Previous supervisory or team lead experience in a rapid prototype and development environment.
