Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
Job Summary:We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Radiology Technologist to perform various radiographic procedures, including general diagnostic and fluoroscopic exams. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with physicians, patients, and other staff members.
Responsibilities:- Competently perform basic and intermediate radiographic procedures, including general diagnostic and fluoroscopic exams.
- Communicate with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, and confirm their understanding.
- Position patients and select exposure factors for various radiologic examinations, providing patient radiation protection and safety in accordance with prescribed methods.
- Identify patient and label images pertaining to the patient, compare requisitions to physician's orders to ensure exam accuracy, and process images ensuring quality of radiographs and call back patients as necessary.
- Assist, communicate, and consult with Radiologists.
- Prepare and maintain records in accordance with various regulatory agencies and enter patient and study information into the radiology information system, documenting billing codes of procedures performed to ensure accurate patient charges.
- Perform various patient positioning and transporting duties, which require lifting and pushing/pulling, while utilizing proper technique.
- Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
- Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
- Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Radiologic Technology.
The Radiology Technologist will work in a fast-paced environment, performing a variety of tasks, including lifting, pushing, and pulling equipment, as well as standing and walking for extended periods. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
