MRI Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for operating magnetic resonance equipment to perform diagnostic procedures, obtaining medical histories, and preparing patients for exams.
Key Responsibilities- Operate MRI equipment to perform diagnostic procedures, including routine musculoskeletal, neurological, and orthopedic imaging.
- Obtain medical histories from patients, compare requisitions to physician orders, and prepare and administer contrast media under the direction of the Radiologist.
- Position patients, select scanning factors, and adjust factors to attain appropriate images, while ensuring magnet safety and protection.
- Post-process images, accurately identify and label images, and maintain records in accordance with regulatory agencies.
- Perform equipment quality assurance tests, calibration procedures, and report malfunctioning equipment to appropriate staff.
- Provide patient positioning and transporting duties, including lifting and pushing/pulling, while utilizing proper technique.
- Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) registration and certification issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 2 years.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
- Advanced training beyond High School in Radiologic Technology.
