About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced EEC-certified Pre-K teacher to join our dynamic team at Temple Emanuel Preschool.

Responsibilities
  • Classroom Instruction:
    • Plan and deliver engaging lessons focused on early childhood development, including arts and crafts, free play, storytelling, and Jewish curriculum.
    • Teach foundational kindergarten readiness skills, such as identifying numbers, letters, and basic social skills.
    • Implement a structured classroom environment to support children's learning and growth.
  • Curriculum Development:
    • Participate in weekly joint curriculum planning sessions to collaborate on lesson plans and activities for the following week (Monday through Friday).
    • Integrate Jewish teachings, including holidays, Shabbat, Israel, Hebrew language, and simple Hebrew prayers, into daily classroom routines.
  • Judaic Education:
    • Lead children in chanting Hebrew prayers daily, including brachot (blessings) before meals and those associated with Shabbat and Jewish holidays.
    • Incorporate simple Hebrew words and phrases into songs and lessons and engage children in Jewish holiday storytelling and activities.
    • Commit to learning Hebrew songs, prayers, and Jewish stories to effectively teach and enrich the curriculum.
  • Classroom Management:
    • Maintain a positive, nurturing, and inclusive environment that supports each child's individual growth.
    • Foster an atmosphere of respect, cooperation, and learning within the classroom.
  • Collaborative Responsibilities:
    • Be present for all scheduled teaching hours and after-school planning sessions.
    • Work one extended day per week until 5:30 p.m.
Requirements
  • EEC (Early Education and Care) Certification.
  • Experience in early childhood education, preferably with Pre-K children.
  • Strong understanding of early childhood development and teaching strategies for kindergarten readiness.
  • Knowledge and passion for Jewish customs, traditions, and Hebrew language, with a willingness to incorporate these elements into the classroom.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to create a warm and welcoming learning environment.
What We Offer
