After-School Program Educator Part-time: Creating Meaningful Experiences

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic After-School Program Educator to join our team at JCC Greater Boston. As an educator, you will play a vital role in creating engaging and supportive experiences for children enrolled in Discovery Club.
Job SummaryThis is a part-time position that offers a competitive pay rate of $20-$23 per hour, with hours varying from 5-20 hours/week. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work effectively with a diverse group of children, families, instructors, educators, and co-workers, and possess a strong understanding of learning and behavior patterns of children.
Duties and Responsibilities- Create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children can thrive after their school day.
- Promote physical and emotional safety of each child, ensure classroom procedures and protocols are followed at all times.
- Facilitate fun and enriching activities designed to stimulate curiosity and creativity.
- Foster a positive classroom atmosphere, supporting individual and group growth, and creating spaces where children feel valued, supported, and free to express themselves.
- Assist with planning daily activities, creating learning materials, and preparing progress reports to inform parents about their child's studies and personal development.
- Nine months supervised experience working with children or equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted at the JCC's discretion.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively with a diverse group of children, families, instructors, educators, and co-workers.
- Able to foster a fun and safe classroom environment conducive to learning.
