Amentum is currently seeking a Systems Engineer III to contribute to the PM Soldier Survivability (PM SSV) project office under the Program Executive Office (PEO) Soldier. As a Systems Engineer III, your responsibilities will include:
  • Engaging in systems engineering tasks such as requirements analysis, functional analysis, design solution development, systems analysis and control, and the creation and upkeep of systems architecture documentation.
  • Utilizing systems engineering principles to convert quantified needs into system performance parameters and identify system configurations.
  • Generating and issuing systems engineering documentation, processes, procedures, and milestones.
  • Possessing knowledge of the Systems Engineering Management Process and its application to the Department of Army/DOD Acquisition process across all life cycle phases; understanding DOD policies on Systems Engineering, Integrated Product and Process Development (IPPD), and IPT Management; and coordinating design and engineering activities with related programs and organizations.
  • Providing guidance that impacts critical programs and technologies.
  • Acting as a subject matter expert for specific technical aspects of the assigned program.
  • Conducting top-level design, development, integration, testing, installation, and troubleshooting.
  • Translating military operational and mission requirements into actionable system concepts and performance specifications.
  • Creating and maintaining technical documentation, including specifications, engineering drawings, system interface requirements, and engineering changes.
  • Participating in post-award program reviews, design reviews, and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) as the project engineer and/or technical expert on assigned programs.
  • Assessing design efforts to ensure the integration of all engineering disciplines and the adequacy of analyses performed, bringing in additional technical expertise as necessary.
  • Reviewing test plans, procedures, and reports for technical adequacy on assigned programs, including both Government and contractor tests, as well as all failure reports.
  • Evaluating system performance against specification requirements, monitoring and assessing field performance, and evaluating risks associated with meeting user and specification requirements.
  • Initiating engineering change proposals and waivers/deviations as needed, and conducting physical and functional configuration audits.
  • Reviewing program management documents to ensure the accuracy and adequacy of technical content.
  • Serving as a subject matter expert in Systems Engineering, capable of leading engineering efforts on assigned programs with minimal oversight from the Government lead.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and ten (10) years of relevant experience.
Required Clearance:
  • ACTIVE CLEARANCE LEVEL REQUIRED: Secret. Please note US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Government Clearance.
